Our Pastor

Meet our Pastor, Rev. Janna Meyers

Rev. Janna Meyers is a transplant Hosier from sunny state of California by way of the East Coast. She graduated from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, with honors in Religious Studies and Psychology. Janna received her Master’s of Arts in Theology and Church History from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Janna served churches and communities in California, Oregon, Connecticut, New York, and Indiana, before being called to St. John in the summer of 2018. She was ordained in the United Church of Christ in 2018 to serve as Pastor of St. John UCC.

She is a long time church nerd, growing up in the United Methodist Church and serving as a regional and national representative for the church on youth and youth concerns. At 18 she was the first youth recipient of the United Methodist Bishop’s award for exemplary service and great promise in ministry. She awarded a Lily Grant to study at Boston University School of Theology while an undergraduate student. She has also served as the Theological Intern at the United Methodist Seminar Project at the Church Center for the United Nations. Her writings have been published by Augsburg Fortress and Spark House as part of their Connect curriculum.

Her name rhymes with “banana.” She is silly, loves Mr. Potato head, board games, and is nuts for a good Christmas pageant. She is an avid, but slow, runner, knitter, and hiker. She eats too much cheese and salt and doesn’t like fish or melons. She has a delightful husband and an adorable son. Come meet her every Sunday at church!
